Frizzy Air Dried Hair Solutions

One of the most common questions I've been getting lately is on achieving perfectly air dried hair with no frizz. I'm going to answer this question for the masses here. The secret to getting the frizz-free is in the products and the temperature of the water. My best air drying days are on the days I wash my hair with conditioner. Why? Since I'm not using a shampoo, I'm getting all that conditioning without the detergents, which means smoother cuticles. You can still get pretty smooth cuticles if you shampoo, condition, and deep condition too, but co-washing is just tops. On to water temperature -- I've mentioned this before, but for some reason, no one really goes back that far on the blog -- Cold water seals the cuticles which means your hair will be smoother, shinier, and free of unwanted debris. Anything else? Yes, other things that can give you frizz free hair are: natural oils and silicone based products. By the way, contrary to popular belief, Silicone can't really block out ALL moisture from penetrating the inner layers of the hair. It's a myth.
